01 / The useful middle
For the PDF job that should take a minute—not another upload.
Many PDF tasks are too small for a full desktop editor but too sensitive or repetitive for an upload-based website. PDF Locker & Tools keeps the common actions close to the page you are already working in.
Open Chrome’s side panel, choose the task, select your files, and download the result through Chrome’s normal download flow. The extension is intentionally focused: it handles defined document jobs rather than trying to become a complete PDF editor.
02 / Complete tool set
Nine practical PDF tools in one extension.
Every shipped capability is listed here so you can decide whether the extension fits the exact document task in front of you.
-
01
Lock PDFs
Apply an owner password to one or more PDF files for a focused protection workflow.
Owner-password protection is not the same as certificate-based security or a guarantee against every kind of copying.
-
02
Merge PDFs
Arrange multiple PDFs in the order you need and combine them into one output file.
A practical way to assemble packets, handouts, records, or related documents without uploading them.
-
03
Split PDFs by range
Turn one PDF into separate outputs using the page ranges that matter to you.
Useful when a larger document needs to become smaller, purpose-specific files.
-
04
Extract selected pages
Choose pages from one PDF and collect only those pages in a new PDF.
Extraction keeps selected pages together; splitting creates separate range-based outputs.
-
05
Rotate and reorder pages
Correct page orientation and move pages into the sequence the document needs.
See the page order before downloading the reorganized result.
-
06
Add a visual signature
Place a supported transparent PNG signature and choose an ink treatment for the visible mark.
This creates a visual signature. It is not a certificate-based digital signature.
-
07
Export pages as images
Save PDF pages as PNG or JPEG images for slides, previews, or image-based workflows.
The conversion happens as a focused export task inside the extension.
-
08
Convert Markdown to PDF
Upload or paste Markdown and turn it into a formatted PDF without switching to another service.
Designed for practical documents rather than a complete publishing or layout engine.
-
09
Combine images into a PDF
Order PNG or JPEG images, adjust page orientation and per-image rotation, then create one PDF.
Useful for scans, photographed pages, and image sets that need one portable file.
03 / File privacy
The document work happens locally in Chrome.
For the core workflows, user-selected files are processed on your device. They are not uploaded to someone else’s processing server. Tool preferences are also stored locally, and finished files are saved through Chrome’s download flow.
Select locally
Choose the document or images from your device.
Process locally
The selected task runs inside the Chrome extension.
Download locally
Chrome handles the finished output through its download flow.

A focused toolkit, not a full PDF editor.
Built for
Repeatable tasks such as combining, separating, organizing, signing, and converting files.
Not designed for
Editing every word, image, font, form field, or layout element inside an existing PDF.
Visual signing
Places a visible signature image. It does not create a certificate-based digital signature.
Current access
Free to use through the Chrome Web Store; future product terms are not promised here.
05 / Common questions
What to know before you install.
Is PDF Locker & Tools free?
Yes. The current Chrome extension is free to use. The live Chrome Web Store listing remains the source for current availability.
Are my PDF files uploaded anywhere?
The core document workflows process user-selected files locally in Chrome rather than uploading them to an external processing server.
Can I merge or split a PDF without uploading it?
Yes. Merge, range-based split, and selected-page extraction are part of the local extension workflow.
Can I sign a PDF?
You can place a visible signature image with supported ink treatments. This is a visual signature, not certificate-based digital signing.
Does the extension replace a full PDF editor?
No. It is built for nine focused document tasks and does not claim to edit every part of an existing PDF.
Does it work offline?
The page does not promise complete offline operation. It makes the narrower verified claim that the core file processing happens locally in Chrome.
